A professional percussionist for more than 60 years, Ray Mantilla has been the first-call conguero for everyone from Max Roach, Art Blakey and Charles Mingus to Ray Barretto, Herbie Mann and Tito Puente. All of his 14 albums as a leader have hit the jazz charts, including his latest, High Voltage.
