Run Ottawa’s ‘Beaver Chase Trail Series’ returns in 2018 and will mark the 25thconsecutive season these informal events will be held during the spring and summer months.
The series is intended to provide the running community organized, fun opportunities to move off the pavement and onto a trail.
We do not time the Beaver Chase Series events. There is a digital clock at the finish line and runners note the time on the clock or their watch and record their times. These are collected and posted after each event and published at www.runottawa.ca
$5 per runner, $2 for runners 14 years and younger and is payable in cash at each race.
This year the series will be comprised of 4 events between May and August. Three will be held from the Richcraft Centre in Kanata and one at Bell High School.
The series finale will wind up on Saturday, October 13th at the Terry Fox Athletic Facility with the Jim Howe Memorial Cross Country 6K race, part of the ‘Capital XC Challenge. It is timed by Sportststats.
Register for the Jim Howe 6K and you can run any of the Beaver Chase trail races at no charge. Typically we charge $5 each for these events. Those who complete 4 of 5 Beaver Chase events will receive a long sleeve Beaver Chase series tshirt. We will award those to our participants post-race at the Jim Howe event.

Richcraft Recreation Centre, 4101 Innovation Drive, Kanata North Business Park;
Washrooms and free parking are available at the Richcraft Centre.
A 2 loop course that is a mixture of paved pathways and cinder pathways which are part of the Monk Conservation Trail.
Runners have an option of doing one or two loops (2.75K per loop). There is a children’s 2K event, which is a condensed version of the longer event.
Tuesday, August 28th
Bell High School, 40 Cassidy Road, Ottawa (take Cedarview Road north of Hunt Club, continue to Bruin Lane and turn left over the 416 overpass then look for the signs to direct you into Bell High School/Arena to park and register). Comfort stations are available on site and parking is free.
An out and back course that will start and finish on the Bell High School track and take runners out onto the NCC trails that run between the rear of Bell Arena and Hunt Club Road. It is 3K out, 3K back. There is an out and back 2K event for those wishing the shorter distance.
