This Wednesday night summer series is growing in popularity, welcoming runners of all standards, including beginners. Part of a four-race series, there will be a medal and finish line goodies to all finishers at each event.
There are also prizes and trophies for winners and winners of vet categories, plus team prizes and a special series prize for 1st Male and 1st Female. Points scored in each race count towards the overall Series prizes (the first 100 male and female finishers in each race score points), with points awarded for race positions and the best three races to count towards series results.
You can enter a single race or save money by purchasing a three race season ticket or a series entry.
The Course
The course is two laps of a relatively flat 2.5km route around the Trout Lake in Colwick Country Park. The route should be quiet with little vehicle traffic, although there are no road closures in place, so runners should be alert to other park users.
First Aid
St John Ambulance or an alternative medical provider will be in attendance on the day and the course will be marshalled to provide assistance. There will also be a sweep runner following the race to ensure that nobody is left behind and that all runners are accounted for.
Race Location: Colwick Country Park, via River Road, Nottingham NG4 2EW
Race Headquarters will be adjacent to the Adventure Centre in Colwick Country Park, accessed via River Road, Nottingham NG4 2EW. Car parking is available adjacent to the start, but you will need to pay a small fee.
Nottingham railway station is just over 3 miles away from the park, but you can travel from the station to the race by bus; take the Ecolink bus to Manor Farm and the start is a short walk away.
The nearest train station to the park is Netherfield, which is roughly 1 mile away. You can either walk or use the Red Line 44 bus to travel from the station to the park (via the New Vale Road stop).
